About Me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University, where I also earned a Master’s degree in Statistics. Before joining Purdue, I received a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and a master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Kyung Hee University, South Korea.

My research examines how tourism phenomena shape broader societal outcomes from a macroscopic perspective, and what drives changes within the experience economy ecosystem at a microscopic level. My specific interests include:

  • Tourism Economics
  • Causal Inference in Tourism and Hospitality
  • Computational Social Science
  • Dynamics in the Home Sharing Economy

Methodologically, my work employes advanced computational and statistical techniques to analyze high-resolution, large-scale datasets (e.g., user-generated content, mobility data, point-of-interest data).

In addition to my personal research, I work as a researcher at the Center for Hospitality and Retail Industries Business Analytics (CHRIBA) at Purdue. In this role, I contribute to data-driven reports and collaborative projects that deliver actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making for stakeholders across the global tourism and hospitality industries.
